Where do we go when doctors don't have answers?
i am an acupuncturist, and this was really heartening to read. to know that what we do helps people move into ritual space around working with pain.
i have BOTH M.E .AND FIBROMAGYIA the list goes on .i am in Pain 7 days a week .it HELPS me a great great deal to have a GOOD CRY RUNNY SNOTTY NOSE ,MARK
i personally think of acupuncture as a spiritual experience, not a scientific one. western science is based on "objective" observation and you can't observe the soul in a clinical sense. i don't know too too much about it, but i've read before that chinese acupuncturists operate from the philosophy that placing the needles in certain points helps to balance your spiritual energy, to move it away from different parts where it's stuck and move it back into balance. i'm not an expert on this obviously and may not be understanding it exactly correct, but that's how i like to think about it. acupuncture really is so magical and it helps me let go of pain and anxiety in a way that no psych med or doctor has ever been able to. i'm glad you're having a good experience with it too :) people sleep on acupuncture because it is so "unscientific"
reading this started with Frontier Psychiatrist by The Avalanches playing in my head, and is ending with crying a little in my recliner. My wife has told me how much acupuncture has helped her too. I’d like to try it one day. thank you for sharing this bit of peace with us. much love💜
so beautiful jesse thank you for sharing ❤️
I feel this in my soul. I’ve read it several times. I am here, too. *feel anxiety, accept anxiety*
This one was really an amazing piece of writing, thank you!
Thank you for sharing! I've been wanting to try acupuncture for chronic pain and anxiety for a long time, and this has pushed me to try to find something. The way you write about ritual around topics like this really hits home. 💗✨
