Welcome to the October edition of Things I Have Been Into Lately, a monthly recommendation list where I tell you all about the books, podcasts, and videos I have been shoving into my hungry little brain. I know, it’s “November”, but clock time is a prison and calendars are a lie.
There’s no theme this month, but I have been reading a lot since I abandoned my Instagram again, so we got: some dope disability politics, my thoughts on that new Gabor Maté book, critiques of disempowering mental health discourses that tell us we have to “heal” ourselves before we can change the world, all the horror I enjoyed during spooky season, and a couple weird things the Youtube algorithm got me into!
ALSO: Ayesha and I talked about why horror movies soothe us for our Halloween episode of D-land this week
